i.MX28
The i.MX28 from Freescale is a great chip for all kinds of industral applications! Clocked at 454 MHz it has enough speed for typical tasks in industrial control. Equiped with ethernet, CAN, I2C, USB and SPI, it has the most common interfaces for all kinds of applications. With an integrated power manager the CPU makes mobile low-power/low-price devices possible. With its graphics engine it is well suited for visualisation tasks. As a special feature, the MX28 has a two-port ethernet switch as well as an IEEE1588 time stamping engine.

Pengutronix and KaRo support the official mainline Linux kernel, well-known for it's high code quality! Since late 2011, we have started to port the MX28 into the official kernel. In a first work package we have mainlined the most used hardware interfaces of the MX28, in order to support customer projects with a solid base for further development.
For the next work packages we are searching for industrial customers who want to make use of the mainline kernel. Please contact our sales team to ask for the next features!
